Looks great, works great, typical problems
Overall, I love this vehicle. When it is time to purchase another truck, I will be getting the new version of the exact same model. It is beautiful, it runs strong, and turns heads. The sound of the motor and the twin turbos/exhaust is aggressive. For a 7000lb truck, this thing will get up and go, it is not sluggish at all like you would expect out of a vehicle of this size. Depending on your usage, it may not be necessary to own a 3/4 pickup truck, but if you will ever need to haul multiple thousand pounds of cargo, or tow over 10,000 pounds, it is a must. The f250 has handled everything I have put it through with ease. The fuel economy for the 2008 is decent, newer models are pretty much the same, and it actually gets better mileage than a lot of V8 gasoline trucks. The best part is that the diesel motor should run forever. If properly maintained, there should be no issue with putting well over 500,000 miles on the truck if not more, and I certainly plan on doing that with this one.

Good at carrying loads, towing. Poor gas mileage, poor in/out of 4x4 low.
The truck is sturdy and solid. I use it as a truck... hauling landscape material such as flagstone, gravel, etc, and for towing light and heavy loads (a couple of kayaks on a light trailer up to a couple of horses in a 2-horse slant). The horses I haul up a pretty steep grade for several miles. The 250 handles it admirably. I use it also to take hay up a short steep grade to the barn. The issue I have there is putting the truck into 4x4 low. I seem only to get to 4x4 high. There is much sand by the barn (I pull part way into a sand arena). On backing down and switching out of 4x4, I often get some lurching until the truck finds itself. On the topic of backing up... absolutely great mirrors on the F250. Great visibility all around. I have a granny step and handle in the tailgate to aid getting in/out of the bed. Absolutely fantastic. Biggest drawback to the truck is the gas mileage. We like to take the truck to the cabin for toting toys (kayaks, windsurfer, etc) to the nearby lake, but if we want to venture very far from the cabin we'll make sure to take two cars to the cabin and drive the other car on such ventures. It's sad that it's more economical to take the truck + car rather than just the truck. We also have a moon roof which my husband likes for ventilation. I'm not enamored of it, and always leave it closed. When open in the day, the air is nice, but the heat/sun is not. I guess that's why they call it a moon roof... best to use at night. The truck is comfortable and roomy. Forget limos, my F250 went to prom! My daughter drove herself and her date and another couple to prom in the F250. It was stylish enough to handle it.
