The dealers on the show room floor didn't go at you like buzzards go after a wildebeest carcass after it's been left to rot in the sun for a day. The prices seemed right, and they got that I was a broke high school kid that needed a point A to B machine with no frills and made me feel comfortable through the whole experience, unlike other dealerships where my social anxiety began kicking in because of the ferocious attitude of their salespeople.

They had a good selection of quality vehicles--Toyota and Nissan mainly. The service was friendly, and the salespeople weren't pushy. They didn't try to rush my decision or push me into any one type of vehicle. I felt like the man who helped me was honest and wasn't trying to get as much money from me as he could no matter what it took.

Their customer service was fantastic. I didn't know much about the Saturn brand, or their vehicles, but the salesperson who helped me took the time to get me up to speed. I felt informed, but not pressured, by the sales experience. After the sale was complete, the staff followed up with me to ensure my continued satisfaction with my used Saturn.

This is my family's "go-to" dealership for car purchases. They give great APR rates. They are flexible with payment schedules. They have cheap prices on the cars, not so much the SUVs though. They are flexible with payments should a problem arise. They also have excellent customer service!

Richmond, VA Driving Tips
There are a lot of one way streets and a lot of very old streets that barely have room for one car. There are also a vast number of students walking around and bicycling on the roads. So it is important to stay alert and using a navigation system will help you avoid paths going the wrong way.
Richmond, VA Buying Tips
There are a lot of dealerships in the Midlothian area of Richmond. The Mazda dealer there is amazing, had a large inventory and was exceptionally generous on the trade-in value. There are dealers all up and down the main road.
Favorite driving memory
Richmond is a city of universities. It was also the Confederate capital during the Civil War. It is on the path of roads running from Florida to Maine along the East Coast. I95 intersects several of the highways around Richmond. To say this city covers the spectrum from historic areas to industrial spaces to the fast moving transit from north to south is accurate. My first experience in driving through Richmond was a trip to the airport from my home on the outskirts of the city. I was new to the area and relying on the nav system. As we entered the central part of the city, the signage on the road pointed to a different route than the one my nav suggested. Since I did not know any of these roads, I chose to follow my car's directions. In the midst of this, in the summer, a hail storm arrived almost instantaneously. Very distracting. However, following the nav, I arrived at the airport on time and only a little frazzled.
Favorite road
Powhite Parkway. It's all about the name. When I moved to VA, my daughter was working for a company that ran the toll systems for bridges and highways all over the country. This was the only location her company was working in Virginia, and it was right near us!

Richmond, VA Driving Tips
Richmond, like most big cities, is a bustling city which means it's filled with a good amount of hurried drivers. There's the typical highway rush that happens around 8 am, noon and again around 5 pm and on really busy streets such as Broad Street but learning the other routes and ways to bypass them makes a huge difference. Always best to plan out your route if you ever need to venture out around these times!
Richmond, VA Buying Tips
There are several dealerships throughout the city ranging from low budget used car sales to more popular dealerships such as GMC or Toyota. Depending on what you are looking for - a cheap car to get you from point A to point B type dealerships are all over the city. More high end dealerships are located in Short Pump (W. Broad Street) as well as regular local dealerships. Can never really go wrong with starting your search for a car on trusty old Broad Street
Favorite driving memory
I used to be deathly afraid of the interstate when I first learned how to drive. The thought of so many cars in one area surrounding me at once was a scary thought! I remember discussing it with a friend who actually went with me the very first time I attempted the highway. I was nervous at first, but once I became comfortable of the other drivers, I thoroughly enjoyed it...Maybe too much. The realization of being able to drive faster than on a normal road was a blast! A 20 year old new driver with a newfound love for speed is an interesting situation. Needless to say, I learned the hard way how to control my "lead foot" and still enjoy the wonders of the highway.
Favorite road
Broad Street - Richmond. Broad Street is a very lengthy road in Richmond that goes from the downtown area all the way out to the "sticks" - the more rural area of the city. You can drive down Broad Street and find anything, I mean ANYTHING you need. From thrift stores to night clubs to bustling restaurants to high end shopping. Of course, once you drive towards the rural end of Broad, you'll start to see less of these things and more of horses, trees and deer, but even then, it's a nice drive for those looking for a more quiet & peaceful experience.
