Good Overall Car
I have been driving a 2009 PT Cruiser for the last 7 years. Overall, it has been a good car for what I needed. It has been reliable, comfortable, and relatively easy to maintain. Mine doesn't have too many fancy "bells and whistles," but it has a manual transmission which is fun to drive. Most of the issues that I have had with the car have been related to the air conditioner, but that wasn't until the last year and half. Prior to that, I've only had to do regular maintenance, as recommended by the shop at the dealership. Although I have enjoyed this car, I would get another one for myself as I am looking for something bigger for my family. I would however, recommend this car to anyone who needs a good reliable car for commuting or driving around town.

Versatile.
This is the 3rd PT Cruiser I have owned. The first one (a couple of model years earlier) we purchased brand new only to have it totaled in a collision after 1.5 years (a very sad day). The second we drove almost until it died, which led to owning our current 2009 model. Needless to say, I like this particular car. The unique style makes it fun to look at. I like that it sits up a little higher than a typical sedan, yet it also carries up to 5 people (driver plus 4). Granted, the back seat is really only comfortable for 2 adults, but you can definitely get 3 kids of various ages back there, especially if one or more are out of the car seat stage! In addition to carrying people, you can carry STUFF. My husband can fit his acoustic double bass with the back seats down. Take the seats out, and you might be able to transport a love seat if you have to (you might have to tie the hatch open slightly, but it works!). I transport packages to the post office daily, and I can fit 3 postal tubs side by side in the "trunk" area. I also love having the hatch to cover me on rainy days, so I'm not standing in the rain getting soaked while I unload. Finally, both the upside and downside of this vehicle is the uni-body construction. The upside is that it just might save your life, like the day a woman ran a stop sign and collided with my hubby who was driving down a 45 mph road. The downside is that if you have any serious collision in this car, your car will probably be totaled. It doesn't hold a great deal of value, but it's a great value for the versatility that the car provides. Love my PT Cruisers!
