Work pony
The truck has the pulling power to haul up to 4,500 lbs. Loaded down, it can hold 1.5 tons, but it has cruddy acceleration. It gets you and your stuff where you want to go, just not fast. It doesn't have creature comforts but is tolerable. The only things power are the steering and brakes. Gas mileage is pretty consistent with a sixteen-gallon tank at 20 MPG city 25 highway. It does require regular maintenance, but parts are readily available and DIY mechanic can fix most issues. It has never left me stranded on the roadside, though it has run out of gas. The rear end is very light and requires packing weight in snow and hydroplanes on water. The extra cab space is there but not practical for additional passenger and poor location for storage.

I love my Ford Ranger
My Ford Ranger is one of the best trucks I have ever owned. It's a four-wheel drive, and it never gives me any trouble. There is nothing I don't love about my truck.
