Nicely Packaged Junk
The interior of the MKX is very nice as it has changeable ambient lighting, leather seats, heat warmers for front and all passenger seats, and a sun roof. The wipers are nice as they automatically detect when its raining and turn on them by themselves. The MKX gets relatively good gas mileage. The outside is nice, though in my opinion it kind of resembles a stereotypical rich housewife's vehicle. The exterior isn't super exciting or sleek. There have been quite a few mechanical problems I have encountered with the MKX. One of the valves broke within three days of me owning the vehicle. The vehicle was purchased used, but with the mileage it had on it at the time, I would not have expected a valve to break and my new car to suddenly die on the freeway. The MKX isn't that great in snow. If there is too much precipitation the sensors that see if there is a vehicle alongside you no longer work. The MKX doesn't have great traction in the snow and in my model there are not lower gears you can shift down to, which I was used to having in my old vehicle (Toyota Rav4). If it is below 20'F the outlets where the windshield washer fluid comes out freezes and will not work. If I have driven this vehicle in under 20'F weather I have to stop every few miles and use something to wash off my windshield as I cannot see out of it (from the washer fluid not coming out and the debris flying up from the road). The battery on the key FOB dies quickly. I had to replace both batteries in my two key FOBs within eight months of owning the vehicle. In my previous vehicle (Toyota Rav4), I was able to go a couple of years without replacing the battery. The MKX is quite roomy, and I am able to haul around my two large dogs without a problem. I like that there is a back up camera that will alert you to any vehicles or pedestrians. I like that there is a button on the key FOB to pop the trunk. I also like that I am able to place my thumb on the door handle and the car will unlock as long as the key FOB is in my pocket. This saves me for fumbling for my keys if I am carrying a lot of things. I like the automatic start, though mine with intermittently decide not to work. The body of the MKX seems to be pretty susceptible to dings and scratches (doesn't seem like very strong material).

Practical, efficient, comfortable. What more do you need?
First of all, let me say that there are only two colors for a car: red and wrong! So, yes, my Lincoln is red. It looks great, not too flashy showy or anything just a great looking car. It has really every luxury feature found in more expensive cars: the auto adjusting heated and vented seats, voice activated controls, auto dimming rear view mirror, dual climate controls, comfortable leather seating, rear camera, etc. etc. All the inside creature comforts are accounted for. It gets about the best gas mileage in its class so you can drive it cost effectively and do your part for the environment without going over the top and giving up a whole lot of power or comfort. I don't know exactly what it is called but the transmission doesn't really have gears exactly, it sort of slides the gear ratio up and down as needed. This takes a little getting used to and impacts the ability to rapidly accelerate by "stepping on it" but it is a big part of how the car gets such efficiency. I don't use the GPS navigation stuff all that often but it seems to work pretty well when I've played with it a bit. I don't really recommend getting built in GPS, better to have a portable one because you need it more often in a rental car than you do at home where you know your way around. But overall the sound system, nav unit, etc. seem very solid and deliver excellent sound quality. So look, the car is very comfortable, looks great, has a long list of luxury features, and gets you where you are going about as efficiently as anything. Total cost of ownership gets a boost by the free maintenance for the first 50,000 miles. Total bang for buck is just hard to beat. This is a very practical car that is not boring by any means.
