New and Fun
Some of the things I really like about this vehicle are the keyless entry and the push button start. I love that I opted for the entertainment systems and navigation. The vehicle drives very smooth, as well. The leather is soft and seats are very comfortable. The 3rd row is easy for the kids to get in and out of, and they seem to love the vehicle, as well. I opted for the white which makes the truck look classy and smart at the same time. It gives me the feeling of being young again. There are a few features of the truck that I'm not 100% loving. One of the main ones is when you have the car stopped at a red light or a stop sign, the car turns off and restarts when you go. This sometimes can make it feel like the car is stalling and hesitant. You can turn the feature off, but you have to turn off each time you restart the truck. I'm also not a huge fan of the lane drifting feature. It pulls the truck and can seem like you don't have control over it. I've gotten more used to these features as I've driven the truck, and I can gauge them much better. If I had to choose those options again, I would not.

Honda love
I am on my fourth Honda Pilot, and they just keep getting better. We have strayed and tried other SUVs, but we kept coming back to Honda. Once they introduced the new body style, we fell in love again. We have about 17k miles on it already with numerous road trips, and it still drives like the day we took it off the lot. No rattles, no break downs, nothing. Also worth noting, there has not been a single recall in our over two years of ownership. We got so tired of excessive recalls with past vehicles. The gas mileage is also great, getting that of a small-sized SUV. The interior is simple but functional and very comfortable. Hondas aren't known for their bells and whistles, but that is why things don't go wrong and they last forever! The third row was a huge incentive for us also when we saw the new model. So many similarly sized SUVs have a basically nonfunctional third row that nobody over 3' tall could fit into. Not only is the third row completely comfortable, but even with the third row up, there is plenty of storage in the rear of the car. Pilots aren't huge, but they use their space so well! Overall, this is the vehicle we have kept the longest, and we still love it. It will not be going anywhere anytime soon. There is only one small issue, and that is with the display. Sometimes the radio channel presets don't load, and there's no way to refresh the screen without turning the car off and back on. The radio still works, the presets are still saved, and they just don't display for some reason. We haven't even taken it in over this issue because it's so infrequent and minor.

A solid family SUV with a few simple bells and whistles
The Honda Pilot EX-L is a solid family SUV. It provides lots of seating room across three rows of seats. With the third row down, you get a large spacious trunk that can allow you to fill it with even the biggest Costco runs or a long vacation on the road. The seats are leather and have convenient controls for moving and adjusting them. Of special note is the button that allows you to access the third row just by pushing it. Leg space is ample in the 1st and 2nd row for most people. It easily fits two adults and two car seats for children, with additional room in the middle of the second row for either a passenger or another car seat. If you use the third row, it could comfortably sit two people. The car handles nicely, and the all wheel drive version handles very well on snow and ice. It comes equipped with traction controls that help you adjust to the driving conditions. Handling is smooth and responsive. The driver's seat has a wide field of vision with few blind spots. You have the option of driving the car in normal or "eco" mode. The normal mode has a zippy pick-up, while the eco mode is a bit more sluggish. Fuel economy is generally in the 20 mpg range with a 50/50 mix of driving on roads and highways. If you do mostly highway driving, you could get as high as 25 mpg. While the practical features of the car are all nice, the electronics still need some work. The sound system via the touch screen can be annoying to work with and awkward to navigate through. The 2016 model is not compatible with Apple Car Play. This model also doesn't come equipped with any Honda Sensing, safety features as standard, and they can't be added on afterwards. Although the blind spot camera that activates when you turn left is a nice touch.
