2008 Kia Rio
Overall, I really am glad that I bought this car. It is difficult to find decent cars for under $4,000. I had a fender bender in October 2016, and my registration on the car I had then was about to run out in December. I could drive my car, but it was totaled since it would take more money to fix than the car was worth. My budget was less than $4,000, and I looked for a decent used car right up to the end of December. The Kia was smaller than I've driven, but I have really enjoyed it because I can "scoot" around in smaller spaces, and I get good gas mileage. I only paid about $3,850.

Decent, inexpensive back-up vehicle
I purchased the most simple model of this car, so there aren't many bells and whistles such as electric locks or windows. Overall, it has served us for ten years with minimal mechanical issues. It has been serviced the entire time and only one owner, so that may have much to do with it. It is pretty small inside and out, and now that I have three young children, our family just doesn't fit anymore. Just recently had an issue with the passenger side tie rod, and we are choosing to fix that ourselves. It has some get-up-and-go compared to our minivan and a tight little turning radius. I like the upholstery. It is dark and very easy to clean. It is small and sleek looking, but a fairly feminine build which suits me fine as a woman. The back seat will not accommodate three car seats, and adult passengers in the back will have a cramped situation as far as any leg room is concerned. It is fairly easy to service ourselves and has had minimal electrical issues so far. It may have been a cheap car, but it has lasted longer than our used Chrysler van and is still plugging along with the proper care.
