The car is luxury at an affordable price.
We've owned this Mazda for a year now. It's a large SUV but surprisingly good on fuel. I love the roominess, and I also love the height. Being on large tires up above the road provides a smooth and quiet ride. Our vehicle has a lot of bells and whistles, which are luxury add-ons. My husband and I have never splurged on a really nice car before, and we're getting older, so we decided to treat ourselves. It seats seven people, and we have had full capacity a couple of times when we had our kids and grandchildren. The seat in the far back is difficult to get into and doesn't have much leg room. My grandson has very long legs, and he was very uncomfortable, so I traded places with him and let him sit up front. I had a hard time getting in and out of the far back. I also wish it came in more colors. I've only seen silver and black. However, I love the car and would buy it again. It has six cylinders and has a lot of power to gain speed quickly if needed. We've taken it to Florida once, which is about a ten-hour ride, and we were very comfortable even though the weather was blazing hot.

Great for hauling kids.
I have been driving my Mazda CX-9 for just over 4 years, and it has about 90,000 miles. It has been an excellent family car. With the leather seats and all-weather floor mats, the kids haven't even been able to do much damage! We bought it because we occasionally need a 7 passenger vehicle to bring some friends or family along with us. We weren't interested in a full-time 7-seater like a mini-van or large SUV. For that purpose, it has worked very well. Two kids can sit in the fold-up back seat comfortably, leaving room for three kids or two adults and one child in the regular back seat. It is low to the ground, so easy to get into, even for my elderly MIL. The interior trim, with the tech package, is really nice. I have navigation, premium satellite radio, powered rear hatch, sunroof/moon roof and keyless ignition. The navigation is a Tom-tom, but I don't find it to be very reliable, so I end up using my phone most of the time. There are separate controls for the A/C in the front and rear, two 12-V plugs, an AUX port, and USB port, and cup holders all over the place. The handling is excellent for a vehicle that is classified as an SUV. It can hug curves and make sharp turns, and I rarely have any trouble parking it. It has great acceleration, but you pay for it in gas for sure. With the high mileage, I am noticing more body roll, and if my dog is riding with me, I have to be careful not to knock her down when I take turns. I have only had to have the car repaired twice, and both times were covered by Mazda, once for a warranty issue, and once for a recall. It does have some squeaking that I find to be very annoying, but, of course, the dealership claims to not be able to hear it.
