Stick-shift Saturn
We bought this car at a local used lot and were very pleased with the appearance but were stuck with a stick shift. ItÕs a nice, neutral green but doesnÕt look too much like weÕre going on a hiking trip. Seats are comfy, CD player works great, radio is great, loads of cup holders available. The seats do stain easily with spilled beverages, as the previous owners found out. The A/C went out on us (again), and we are stuck riding hot days with the windows down and papers blowing around. No big deal if you live in a cooler climate. Safety issues are the primary concern with vehicles anyway. The downside for us was the actual driving! The hardest thing for some people to learn is stick shift/manual. Most family members wonÕt drive the car. Also, if someone who gets car sick a lot is a passenger or driver, this car might not be a good choice. ItÕs jerky, and if you are on a street with lots of red lights and fast traffic, it may be difficult to switch gears fast enough to please other drivers. WeÕve had loads of rude people honking at us, and the car stalls at the lights occasionally. But if you can drive manual, then you know what youÕre getting into. One issue I want to say is important. We must always park with the emergency brake on. I went shopping one day with a family member who failed to remember this safety tip, and someone ran into the store yelling about our car in the middle of the busy street. We had parked on a very slight hill, and it rolled away without anyone noticing.

It is nothing special
The fact that it was Hybrid made me think I would be saving so much on gas. Being a smaller size SUV, those are great qualities to have. However, although it does get better gas mileage than an SUV, it does not give the better gas mileage compared to other hybrids. It does have a small gas tank so the fact I can fill it up with $20 is great. However, the tank only lasts about a week which is what my smaller four-door sedan got with the same amount of highway time. I do like the room in the back and the fact that I can pull up the floor in the back and lift up a rack for grocery bags. I do not like the color, because it is gray with gray interior. I wish it had leather seats.
