A reliable car
This is a car for someone who is not a "car person". If you are someone who wants a reliable vehicle that is fuel efficient and roomy, then this is the car for you. If you need the latest bells and whistles or something flashy, look elsewhere.
The Impala gets 25-28 MPG (mixture of city/highway) and has enough power to get up and go. It rides very smoothly on the highway and offers dual climate control. It is the very definition of reliable; in two years, the only parts to break down have been a bad battery that overheated and a tire that was punctured.

Overall, I like the size of the Chevy Impala. It's a fairly smooth ride. The seats are comfortable and I like the color. The trunk is spacious.
However, according to my experience and a little Internet research, this car is prone to mechanical difficulties. I have had to make numerous repairs just to keep this car on the road. And it currently needs a new engine. I cannot even get this car inspected, so I've been driving with an expired sticker for the past 8 months.
Based on my experience with this particular car, I would not buy another Chevy Impala.

This dealership was excellent because we had a truly excellent sales representative to talk with. I was interested in an economical vehicle with no bells and whistles that would serve my needs as a long distance commuter car, and the sales rep. delivered with absolutely no hassle. He did not try to sell me on a more expensive car but gave exactly what I was looking for. Also, I did not have to haggle at all as he was able to drop the price so low for us that we were happy to take it that day. It was truly a relief to find this dealership and we will be buying our next car there.
