Affordable, comfortable and good-looking.
My husband and I bought our Chevy Malibu because we wanted something a bit more affordable. The Malibu is great on gas. We only fill it once or twice a month (and we are on-the-go quite a bit). A common misconception about a Hybrid car is that they aren't very fast/powerful, but this car has plenty of "get up and go" in it. It's an attractive car. It doesn't appear to be cheap and the chrome trim dresses it up nicely. The interior is a two-tone brown/beige color which also looks nice. It's easy to keep clean and the seating is comfortable. It has some really nice features, such as the auto-temperature control. You can set the temperature to whatever you'd like and it maintains that temperature for you, whatever time of year it may be. It has excellent traction control and gives warnings as to when the roads may be icy (we have driven all winter in the ice and this has been a godsend). It also has a sun-roof, which is an unnecessary but nice feature. There is plenty of space for cups/drinks, sunglasses, phones, maps, etc. The only thing I really found I wasn't completely satisfied with is the trunk. It is a little on the small side and isn't really suitable for people who want to purchase smaller pieces of furniture or larger boxed items. The car itself is also a little compact. I probably wouldn't recommend it to people with larger families. My husband and I are expecting, and it will do for now, but I can see space being a problem in the future. However, for now I love it and it's great to drive.
