Pros: Upon purchasing my 2008 Chevy aver ls I had great gas miles. About 35 miles to the gallon. It got my to and from work with no problems and very little gas consumption. It was reliable and I kept up well with the maintenance such as oil changes and such. Cons: the crash rating for this car is very low, if I were to get into a crash with this car. Id be toast. It is a very small car and a very uncomfortable ride. I drove out of state with 2 other passengers and it was not a comfortable ride at all. There is only one arm rest for the driver and no armrest for the passenger. 3 Years after owning this car I keep having electrical problems. The headlights and brake lights went out completely and I opened the hood and realized that the headlight connector- the female part was burned and charred. I replaced that part and 3 months later the other side did it. I replaced that, and now the brights do not work and I have a brake light that is completely broken. I'm in the middle of getting it repaired and currently the mechanic is taking the dash apart to get to the oem module to see if that is the case. I do not recommend buying this car.

I traded my car that I crashed into a deer and used my GM credits to get this car new at an extremely discounted price (~5000.00 USD), which was my favorite part about the car because I hate spending money on cars. I was also happy that the car was available with a manual transmission, which is becoming rare these days for economy cars. I like the boxy looking style of cars and this one was boxy enough in shape to suit my taste. The black color looked especially sharp. The car was also roomy enough for me (I am 5'11", 175 lbs). It gets great highway and city gas mileage for a GM car and is fun to zip around in and easy to park. You get what you pay for though. Don't expect to get power windows a CD player or any other luxury items in the base model.

This car gets decent gas mileage and is not terrible car to drive even in the winter time with plenty of snow on the ground however its' engine is very difficult to work on and it is a very small car so fitting more than 2 adults and 1-2 kids is not easy to do.
