Bare minimum.
My F150 was bought from a family friend at a really good price for a truck. My family needed a truck so I decided to buy one. Now obviously trucks aren't know for their gas mileage but this truck only gets around 8-10MPG if you drive efficiently with the AC/heater off. The cabin space inside the truck is huge. There's lots of space where you can fit 3 people up front and 3 people in the back. As far as being a truck the 1997 Ford F150 meets expectations. It's can easily carry a one-piece pre-made picnic bench or 2 large dressers in the back. If you're moving it carries a bunch of boxes full of stuff. My family was able to fit around 15 good sized boxes in the back as well as 2 lamps and a small desk. For the long term I wouldn't expect much. The interior leather seats are completely trashed for the driver and passenger seats. The truck isn't used on the daily so I believe the seats should've lasted longer than they did. The truck has had several problems including a vibrating sound that sounds like it comes from the gas tank but only when braking. The mechanics we've been to say it's "normal" and "nothing to be worried about". Perhaps its not but it's loud and annoying. We've had several time where the alarm will start going off for no reason. Usually happened at night too. It would go off multiple times in a night. Then it would be fine for a month or two and it would do it again. Overall the truck has lasted, it still runs and get you and your haul from point a to point b. It's been very reliable, it has over 120,000 miles. No major or expensive breakdowns yet.

I purchased this truck brand new in September of 2014. It was a little spontaneous, but my finances were in order and dealerships were running Black Friday ads featuring very aggressive deals. I assume this was because the all new 2015 aluminum bodies wer
This was a great and reliable truck. Never has any mechanical issues with it. Wow, the 3.5 Ecoboost puts the fun back in the F150, pulls like a diesel, quiet as a mouse, smooth as silk, and the fuel mileage isn't bad either. Brought it home from the dealership this afternoon and might have to spend the night in it to. I pulled some mountains on the way home and with less than 50 miles on it and being as careful as I could, this baby wanted to pull. I can't wait to hook up a camper and meet the competition going over the passes and it's only a 6, must be something magically going on here, thanks. Ford, had almost given up on you.

Quality craftsmanship that has lasted a very long time.
I have always liked the look of all the different generations of F150s and judging by how many older models I still see out there every day I had a feeling that this line of Ford was a reliable choice. I like the rugged look the F150 has. It looks like how a truck should look.
The F150 I own is fairly comfortable. I do not put to much stock into comfort when it comes to trucks though. This is a truck, not a Mercedes.
The one thing I really like about this truck is that it has good enough room in the extended cab for my wife up front and our kid in back. This leaves room for a good long bed that can haul a ton.
There aren't any noises other than the sweet purr of the engine. I really enjoy the way the 5.4 motor sounds.
This F150 of mine has 161,000 miles and the only time it's been in the shop is for oil changes.
The gas mileage is what you'd expect from a pick up and I hear the new line of F150 is great on gas.
This truck still has power to get up and go and can haul and massive amount when needed.
This truck handles well for being a truck and I would definitely go with an F150 when it's time to get a new rig.
