A good family car and daily driver, but nothing special.
I've owned this car for six years, put roughly 60,000 miles on it, and it still drives as well as it did the day I bought it. It has been a relatively low maintenance vehicle, and what maintenance it has needed is mostly related to my personal usage. It's a fairly roomy car with an equally roomy trunk, more so than the '95 Taurus I owned as a teen. The paint has held up well, and so has the interior features of the car (aside from the driver's side door panel, but that's its own story). One thing I do appreciate about it is that none of the parts are appallingly expensive to replace unless you just want to go all out on quality. Plus, this car features a FlexFuel engine, which means I can put regular gasoline in it and it runs like Premium. My only real problem with this car is the stereo system. Apparently 2006 was the year that Ford decided to tinker with the AC system by creating an overall unit for A/C and radio controls. What this meant for me was no aftermarket stereo installation, thus no introducing a USB or auxiliary connection for my phone. I had to purchase a Bluetooth FM adapter to get away from CDs, and install high quality aftermarket speakers to get any sort of volume. Overall, I liked this car, but I will be glad to upgrade.

A workhorse of a car.
I'm on my second Ford Taurus and my third Ford car so I'm familiar with the brand and it doesn't disappoint. It's build sturdy and it incredibly simple to repair. Yes you can still perform much of your own maintenance on a vehicle like this and feel satisfied that you don't need to know rocket science to get it right. The car has nearly 300,000 miles on it and is showing no signs of slowing down. The power systems are in working order and the ride is as smooth as ever. The engine pull as strong as the first day I drove it four years ago and I’ve put over 100,000 miles on it with as little as $2,000 in repair cost in that time. It’s understandable why this was a car order by the thousands for fleet usage. The interior and trunk are huge. With regular checkups and a little elbow grease I'm sure it easily has another 100,000 miles to go. It also seems to have gotten slightly better on gas mileage that the manual suggests or that could just be my wishful thinking, but it's great to have a car that even after 15 years still runs so well.

Great car overall.
The trim below the doors holds moisture, causing rust, but overall, the car is a great family car. It is safe and very comfortable for long rides or daily commutes. The body construction is solid, and it has comfortable seats. This is a great car for the money.
