The 2008 Taurus x is a nice compromise between minivan and SUV. While not as sleek as some of the modern crossovers, the roomy interior allows for comfortable travel. The third row bench seat folds down to give ample space in the back. The third row bench seat works well for kids, but does not provide enough leg room or headspace for an average sized adult to travel comfortably for long distances. For short trips, however, it should be fine. The second row bucket seats are nice and have cupholders that are conveniently located. The car itself runs well. We haven't had any problems with it. The dash is nice and user-friendly. It drives and handles well and feels safe. I like that it has the security pad on the drivers side door so that I can get in without having to search for keys or if I locked keys in the car. My biggest complaint is that because the car uses a key with smartchip technology, keys have to be purchased and programmed at a dealership and they are expensive at $100+. Not good if you have a tendency to lose keys, since you can't make your own copies. Overall it is a great car, great family car, runs well and is nice to drive.
