The 2000 Honda Accord we still own and drive today was purchased new and used as the primary work vehicle of a managerial level employee for 12 years. After that, it was used by a brand new driver as a cost effective first car as opposed to trading it in for a new car. The car has been outstanding, getting about 35 miles per gallon on average and having very few repairs. The one exception being the proverbial timing chain belt that was on all old Hondas. The one thing that has stopped working is the cruise control, which he have not gotten fixed since it has been used by a high schooler and now college student. The front-wheel drive on the car is a definite plus -- it climbs a rural quarter mile hill every day. One that typically takes a 4-wheel drive. This car has room for four individuals and could easily fit five if the backseat passengers were small or children. It has excellent pick-up for a 4-cylinder engine and can merge into traffic on the interstate without any problems. The car is so good that it was actually totaled in a snow-related accident due to worn out tires, and we decided to pay the amount above the market value to get it back. We would feel very comfortable driving the 17-year-old car anywhere in the country without worrying about it breaking down. This is a great car that I would buy again... and have. We now have four Hondas, including two Accords.

My vehicle is an older model so that is something I dislike, but it has no reflection on the make or model. I really like the size of the vehicle in relation to driving it daily. It isn't very large, so it easy to drive and park anywhere. I don't like the leather seats, because they're too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. In summer, when I wear shorts or a dress, I have to put a towel in the seat to keep from burning my legs and to keep my bare legs from sticking to the seats. I do love the heated seat feature in the winter though! I would prefer if it had remote start. It has good leg room in front and back and plenty of cup holders. I do wish the trunk height was a bit taller. Sometimes it's hard to fit certain things in the trunk depending on their shape. It gets wonderful gas mileage.
