I grew up with an all-American dad wanting me to buy only American-made cars. After going through several used cars from dad-approved brands such as Ford, Chevrolet, etc., I was fed up and started looking elsewhere. After much research I found the Hyundai Elantra and never looked back. This beautiful little car is perfect for students, families, or single people who just need to get to work. My Hyundai gets me 35-39 miles per gallon on average and hasn't had a single problem in the 3 years I've owned it so far. I've put her through hell in the form of long commutes to see my long-distance boyfriend averaging 500 miles every other weekend, as well as trips to see family across the US and one very unfortunate incident with a deer. My Elantra isn't just a trooper with long trips, either. My daughter loves going on car rides. I purchased the car when I was pregnant and it's the only car that soothes my girl to sleep every time we go for a ride. She's also always provided a very smooth ride in my urban neighborhood where there's always construction. I absolutely love the dash displays that are super easy to read and give me an in-depth image of how many miles I can go before I need to re-fuel and the multiple trip meters so I can gauge how many miles I put on my car in a week as well as in between oil changes. I wouldn't trade her for the world!

My wife and I purchased the car with cash after trading in our Nissan Murano. The Murano was just too big and too much of a car. The Elantra was a perfect size for my wife, who mainly uses it for daily transportation for herself and our son. Despite being used, the quality of the car is great, and so far we have not had any problems, mechanical or otherwise.
