The first time I saw the 2001 Kia Rio, I realized that Kia was set to become a greater car company that it currently was. As most people know, they licensed the Mazda 323 and turned it into a Korean car in the early years of the model. As it was near the beginning of the production cycle, I was able to allow for the fact that there weren't a lot of additional features. The car was inexpensive and got good gas mileage. Those were the most important things. In addition to that, the handling proved to be equal to the Corolla and other cars in its class. The gas mileage was also routinely around 30 on the highway, which made it quite inexpensive to operate.

This gold Kia Rio was a great little car. It lasted for a very long time. It was drove across many states and had very few problems with it. It was taken camping on many rough dirt roads. We drove this car across several states many times through winter storms and hot weather. I wish they still made this car because I would probably buy it again, what a great little car.
