Hurstbourne Pkwy.. Hurstbourne Parkway is my favorite road to drive because it is a close major road to where I live. It traverses the East suburban side of Louisville which is where I prefer to spend most of my time. I love to drive this road because it is the main access road to very many of the places that I love to visit. There are all sorts of shopping and dining venues galore and you can find everything you need on Hurstbourne Parkway. Sometimes, during rush hour, when the driving times are a little long and I am not pressed to be anywhere at a certain amount of time, I like to just stop into a store or restaurant that is so convenient from the road and spend the rush hour entertaining myself there. The time flies, especially if I go into a plaza that offers multiple shopping and dining options so I can wait out the rush hour. Before I know it, I am back on the road and able to go home in a leisurely manner. The lanes are wide and there are plenty of lights to direct traffic accordingly, even when you have to be somewhere. Hurstbourne Pkwy offers easy access to the freeway as well. Some of the very best places in the city can be found right off of Hurstbourne Parkway for sure.

Louisville is a HUGE, fast-paced city, and for new drivers, using the many interstates can be intimidating, and is often easier just to simply learn side roads--it may take a few extra minutes to reach your destination, but you will be able to see the city more and take your time getting there! A favorite memory has to be this past Spring, introducing my now husband to the city for the first time, I was able to take him to all of my favorite stores and places, including the Waterfront, the Highlands, St. Matthews, and Bardstown Road, and helped him truly experience the culture in Louisville.

Bardstown Road. Bardstown Road holds a few pieces of significance for me, the first is that is the place where my high school was located, so I have a lot of memories associated with learning how to drive, getting my driver's license, and being able to drive myself to school and that was the road that I took in order to get there. I also drove that road to go to football games, and watch my little sister play basketball at our high school. Additionally, Bardstown Road has a lot of great restaurants and a few "social" areas including a movie theater and miniature golf course that I frequented with my friends. Finally, "cruising" down this road, into the "Highlands" of Louisville is still a favorite pastime, the Highlands is full of eclectic businesses and people, and is a direct connection to the historic and beautiful Downtown Louisville area.
