They did not pressure me into buying a car. But they were very informative and let me know they where there if I had any questions.

Nashville drivers are notorious for cutting other drivers off. Pay close attention when driving so that you can be as safe as possible. Also, traffic is a real problem. It's always a good idea to have several routes in mind so you can make a change, and take the route with less traffic.
Do not search the internet to buy a car. The best way to buy a car is to do your research before you start to shop, and then go to a least 5 different dealers so you can weigh the deals each one has to offer. The way to can obtain the best deal.
My father and I like to drive down Charlotte Avenue, turn on 46th street and drive to our favorite restaurant, McCabe Pub. Charlotte is an older street that extends all the way to downtown Nashville. When you turn on 46th Street, you drive through the quaintest neighborhood in Nashville. It is called Silvan Park. All the houses are older, but the neighborhood is well kept and interesting. Some of the houses are being torn down and rebuilt, but the new builders are keeping with the style of the neighborhood. The yards in Silvan Park are particularly nice and old fashioned with plenty of flowers and nice landscaping.
Several years back, my father and I were driving through Silvan Park on our way to lunch at McCabe's Pub when we noticed a woman parked kind of in the middle of the road. She appeared to have car trouble. My dad, always the gentleman, requested that I stop. I typically don't like to stop for strangers, but on this occasion my father insisted. I stopped and realized that the woman in trouble was none other than Brenda Lee, the singer. She did indeed have car trouble and as coincidence would have it, she was going to lunch at McCabe Pub. Although it was only a short distance there, we were able to give her a ride. She called someone to take care of her car, and she was able to make her lunch date on time. We got her autograph, and have enjoyed telling this story ever since.
Charlotte Avenue right into downtown Nashville. It is my favorite road to drive because it is an old road and it goes right into downtown Nashville. When you approach the area of Baptist Hospital, you drive up a hill. As you top the hill, the city and all its glory comes into view. I love this view.

Be courteous. Most people in Nashville are polite drivers. If you signal, they will let you in. If you are trying to turn left out of a side road, they will make space for you. You don't hear much horn-honking in Nashville so be polite and everyone can have a good, stress-free drive.
There are a lot of car dealers in Nashville. You can find major dealers north, south, east and west. The best thing that I can suggest is to look around, visit a few dealers and compare deals. I would probably stay away from CarMax as they are overpriced but you should be able to get a good deal from one of the locally owned dealerships.
Driving around Nashville is quite pleasant compared to other cities. I have to say that my favorite memory is really of a bad experience. I was driving on I40 heading East out of town and, as a I was passing the airport, my front passenger side tire blew out. I was in the fast lane so my only option was to pull up next to the center barrier. I had passengers in the car and there was a lot of traffic so my position was a bit dangerous. I called the local non-emergency police number and, after getting all of the necessary information, they told me to wait there. Within 10 minutes there was a TDOT truck on the scene. The driver parked behind me and had a sign up to point traffic around me. He got out, changed my tire for me and then pulled out behind me to let me get back into traffic. It cost me nothing. So, whilst it started out with a blown out tire, it really was a great experience!
I440. I440 is a bypass around the south side of Nashville. It makes it easy to get around the city without having to go through downtown area traffic. It pretty much links the whole south side of the metro area as well as hooking into I40, I24 and I65. It is well maintained and, outside of extremely busy times, flows pretty well.
