We had to buy the car in a pinch, and were lucky to find this one. It may not be the prettiest car, but it has been fulfilling all of our needs and leaves us rather stress free.

I purchased the car because the gas prices were high at the time, and I have an X-Terra. I traded in the X-Terra for the Sentra begrudgingly, but I was getting ready to start college full time, and I needed to commute an hour each way to school. The car was fine for most of the time I had it. I kept up on the maintenance, but around 95,000 miles, I started noticing it shifting a little weirdly. Due to my schedule, I couldn't get it into the shop until I was passed the 100,000 mile warranty. They then told me that my transmission had gone out and needed to be replaced. Upon further research, Nissan is apparently aware that the CVT transmissions they use in some of their vehicles have problems. They've even gone so far as to provide extended warranties for specific models/years specifically for CVT replacements. Unfortunately, my model/year is not one of those. So I needed to pay almost $4,000 to replace a transmission that had just over 100,000 miles on it.
