Reliable car and budget friendly
I bought this car primarily as a way to commute to work. I needed something reliable, with good gas mileage, and relatively inexpensive for a newer car. This car has satisfied all of my needs. It doesn't have many frills and lacks superior handling but its a great way to get from point A to point B. I own the sedan version, and the interior space is rather large for the size of the vehicle. The trunk space is also impressive. I would recommend this to college students or anyone needing a budget friendly vehicle and aren't overly concerned with owning a car for status or performance.

A reliable workhorse
I have owned this car for five years and have driven 280,000 miles. I bought it because it was a great value and came with a great warranty supplied by the dealer. It gets decent gas mileage, which is important when you are averaging close to 1,000 miles each week. For me it has been a very reliable car. I have only had to perform two major repairs, both of which were completely covered by the dealer's warranty. I needed a new fuel pump and a new transmission at 195,000 miles. That is high mileage with no major repairs even without the warranty. I even put on about 50,000 miles driving for Lyft, and those were hard city miles on the streets of Chicago. All the components have worked smoothly and as designed for this entire time. The ride is not what you would get from a luxury vehicle but is reasonable for an economy vehicle. The bare bone amenities are enough to keep a guy who spends a lot of time in his car comfortable and happy.

Reliable and nice little car
The Nissan Versa hatchback has been a good little car for my family. First, it looks cute and it comes in blue. That may seem superficial, but I like color and find the usual assortment of black, silver, and white to be boring.
The exterior does dent pretty easily - shopping carts or even accidentally bumping into my car have left small dents. The original hubcaps/wheel covers fell off very easily within the first year or two. Otherwise, the exterior is very nice.
It's a comfortable car - we drive very long distances and the seats are very comfortable. I did have to remove the driver's headrest because I felt it pushed up against my head too much, which was not comfortable. The backseats are adequate for a small family. The bench fits two car seats comfortably, though that eliminates room for a third person to sit unless they are super thin. The leg room in the front is adequate for shorter people. Tall people may find it to be slightly less comfortable.
The hatchback itself is fairly roomy. I'm able to store a bit of my family's items in there. The covers stay put with the use of velcro, which fails occasionally, exposing everything that is in the hatch.
It drives well - very smooth. My Versa is very basic - nothing fancier than power locks, windows, and a CD playing radio. No mp3, which was offered on other cars for more money. It does allow a lot of road noise, which can be unpleasant.
The Versa has performed very well for me with few problems. It has over 100,000 miles on it now as I drive far distances often. Other than regular oil changes, brake maintenance, new tires, and light bulb replacements, this car hasn't needed much repair. Gas mileage is satisfactory and comparable to other basic cars in it's class for the 2009 year.
Overall, it has been a comfortable and very reliable car and I'd buy one again.

The people were nice and worked with me on price and features. It was not as painful as dealership experiences can be.
