This car is perfect for our needs. It is capable of lowering the backseats to give more trunk room. In addition it has a roof rack. It has required minimal maintenance, This is especially good for us because we tend to not get regular checks as suggested. Additional pluses were the heated seats which were perfect for me because I have a cold nature. The nature of the car being a station wagon lent itself to clear views on all sides/back when driving. Great gas mileage. I felt very safe and secure when driving even in bad weather because it's a four wheel drive. Lots of leg room, even when seated in the back. Acceleration was always good. Handling was easy. I'm a petite person so I loved having this vehicle because it felt small yet had lots of room. Although we no longer have small children at home I believe This is a perfect car for a growing family due to it's size and storage area. I enjoyed having the back cabin space when we traveled so we could have access to packed coolers, etc without having to stop. Overall I consider this car to be a great purchase. I really can't speak to any cons for this car, we have had no problems and will buy Subaru again.

The 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback has great traction and handling. The all-wheel drive does not let the tires slip in rain or snow. The car has a nice, soft ride yet is very agile and responsive. The main design flaw of the car is the drink holder.
