Excellent, reliable car!
This is an excellent, reliable car, especially for driving in the snow. My model is a manual, allowing extra control when driving in icy and slippery conditions and up and down mountains. The interior is nicely done and has held up well over years of use. The gas mileage is excellent, helped by the fact that the car is a manual. We have had several issues with the speedometer, which I ended up having to replace. However, considering the age of the car, few things have broken. One disadvantage is that there is no aux cord or tape player to connect an aux cord. However, we have gotten around that by using a radio adapter.

I love it, but watch out for the gasket.
This is one of the best cars I have ever owned. The four wheel drive makes my weekly trips over Mount Hood a breeze. I would warn potential owners however about some expensive repairs that are particular to Subarus. When I bought the car my friend said asked me if I had the gasket replaced because that is an expensive repair that Subarus often need. I learned what he meant in the last couple of weeks. My radiation blew out first and the engine overheated. That was $850 of repairs. The repair guy said that there could be further problems but maybe we got away with it. The only warning I had was a little light coming on. The mechanic said that Subaru used to have a little panel that showed if your engine was overheating and they replaced it with something that shows MPG and now the only warning you have of a critical situation is the light. To make a long story shot I ended up breaking down in Gresham and needed to get towed to Portland and now have another $2200 of repairs and need a new gasket.

The best car I've ever owned.
Everyone in my family has owned Subarus, so when it came time for me to buy my first real car ( not a beater off Craigslist), I naturally gravitated to what I knew, Subarus. I choose the Outback for its sleek design and roomy cargo. I live in Oregon, so as you can guess, it rains a lot here. I knew I needed a car that could handle rainy, wet roads and even sometimes icy ones. My Subaru has far exceeded my hopes in that department. Last year when my town got one of it's rare snowstorms and our city was all but shut down, some of my family members were left stranded as their cars just couldn't handle the ice. I became the designated chauffeur and my Subaru handled it like a champ. I didn't skid on the ice once! The one complaint I have is that on the night my car got broken into (busted window), there was no sign of the alarm going off. It could have been a number of reasons but just thought I'd mention it. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks, Subaru, for making safe, reliable cars!

So much easier than dealing with a dealership. Was able to find all of the details online and go in and test drive the car. Was in and out within a few hours.

It was a very low pressure sale I walked onto the lot knowing the key things I was looking for. At that point the sales person took me to one car and after the test drive and I purchased it on the spot.

Very easy to work with. Up front, didn't have to negotiate too much.
