Reliable, fuel efficient, and easy to handle.
Overall, the 2009 Toyota Highlander is a great car. It did not come with all the extra features such as a sunroof or fog lights, but it was well worth the price. The Highlander is very flexible in what it can be used for. It is a great family car because it has lots of seating. The seats can fold down to allow for a large amount of storage space or to accommodate pets. It is also a good car for your daily commute. The Highlander is large enough that other drivers and especially big trucks do not try to bully you on the road, yet it is small enough that it can travel down narrow streets without much issue. Depending on the exact model that is purchased, it also has enough power to pull trailers and such given a tow kit. The Highlander is also versatile in who is able to comfortably operate it. It is good for people big and small, young and old, and for those who are just beginning to drive. Overall, I would definitely purchase a newer model if the need and opportunity should ever arise.

The first thing that drew my attention to the car was the size and overall outward appearance of the vehicle. It is a mid-sized SUV and has the third-row seating. It is a good size for me (a mother of two young children) to drive through town and take on long road trips. There is plenty of room for everyone to have "their own space." The fuel mileage is average with other SUVs of its same size.

A great ride
This car has been a dream since I got it six months ago. Even with more than 100,000 miles, it's given me no issues so far. The ride is smooth and fairly silent. It's fairly fuel-efficient for a car of its size. It handles great in inclement weather, with anti-lock brakes and power steering allowing me to maintain complete control of the vehicle even if traction is temporarily lost. It's not huge but it's roomy enough, as the kids and their friends can be shuttled around without much of an issue. I do wish it had a bit more storage space, as I need to rely upon a second vehicle for occasional larger hauls of various items. But that's the only drawback and not something everybody needs to worry about. The material of the seats is comfortable. It hasn't rusted much. The heat and air conditioning work really well. It's small enough to be able to handle tight squeezes such as parking at a mall during the holidays. There are very few drawbacks, but the tires needed on this vehicle are on the expensive side. All in all, I'd drive one of these the rest of my life if I could acquire them at the right price.
