It has a good build that allows me to fit everything I need into it including luggage, instruments, and multiple friends. It steers well, and the brakes have been consistently strong and quick to respond. The car does not have a lot of power, though, and sometimes takes its time going up hills. Also, the lack of four wheel drive can make it difficult to drive in the winter. I bought this car used and it had over 100,000 miles on it but it has never given me trouble. The basic model of the Matrix has mostly manual controls for things like the mirrors and steering wheel. This is fine with me and I like the way it is shaped. It can fit into almost any space and is very maneuverable around corners and bends. Though small, the lights are bright and I can easily see when driving at night. The way the interior lights are placed sometimes makes it hard to turn on when I am looking at a map, however, they are adequate for my purposes. Overall, I love my Toyota Matrix and hope it lasts me for years to come.
