Workhouse that gets the job done.
I bought this truck because it had one original owner that never drove it, and being over 30 years old, it only had 63,000 original miles and was garaged for most of its life and never driven on winter roads. It has almost 90% of its original parts and starts right up. It doesn't have the luxuries of today, but it never lets you down on performance. I have hauled many things in this truck and driven it on road trips, and it hasn't failed me once. I love the nostalgia surrounding this truck, and I get a lot of looks and questions where ever I go. It's got a touchy carburetor and quite a personality, so if you don't know the truck, it will stall on you. I think that just adds to the charm. Every time I get in it, it feels like I've gone back in time. I only paid $2,000 for it, and I don't regret a penny spent.

I love my franken truck
My 1997 F-150 was purchased used for $3,000. I was told it was made from several different trucks to be used in a landscaping business pulling trailers. What I wasn't told was that it was made from two F-150s, one Chevy 2500, and one Chevy 3500. This has led to serious fun doing work to the vehicle, as my first task was to identify and write down a master cheat sheet that recorded everything from the type of oil filter used by the 1995 Chevy 5.7 Liter crate V-8 motor, to the set up notes for the Rochester Quadra jet carb atop it, to the fluid used in my manual transmission, to so many more interesting things.
