Very dependable.
I have owned this truck since 2007 and have taken it from 40,000 miles to 150,000 miles. This has been a very dependable truck. Outside of changing the oil, tires, and breaks, there have been minimal upkeep costs, especially for this long of a run. I have had to replace the air compressor twice, the fuel pump, and the spark plugs, and the battery, but have incurred no other costs and have no doubt the truck will start when I head for work in the morning. The fuel mileage is average at about 16-17 miles a gallon for my suburban commute, but you don't really buy a truck for the mileage. The 4.6 liter V8 has plenty of pick-up to handle your commute, while not being as bad on the pockets at the 5.4 liter. I especially love the four-door design as it offers great accessibility. However, I purchased the short-bed version for the looks and while I still love the body style, it has proven to be slightly annoying since moving to the beach. The short bed is far from ideal when you want to throw a small kayak in the back for a quick fishing trip.

Great, dependable, long-lasting truck
Great truck. I purchased mine for cash in 2008 and have had minimal problems since. I have had to replace the a/c pump twice for $600 each time, the fuel pump twice for $600 each time as well. Also had to change and clean the fuel injectors and spark plugs once for around $300. Other than that, I have only had to pay for tires, a new battery, and oil changes. Again, I purchased it in 2008 with 40,000 miles on it and have gotten 11 years and 125,000 more miles out of it for less than $3,000 in repairs. That is a tough deal to beat. The truck can haul my 21-foot boat without a problem. I have also hauled sod with it twice with four pallets on the trailer and a half pallet in the bed of the truck, impressive for a half ton gas powered truck. I have a four-door model, and the back has plenty of room for the kids. We can easily put two car seats back there and have plenty of room for them in the back while maintaining leg room for us in the front. The only thing that could be better is gas mileage, but that's the same with all trucks.

It's ok
I love that this truck has four doors. Makes it much easier to get my grandkids in and out of the back without having to crawl over the seats. Does lack leg room in the backseat, so it isn't that comfortable. It is comfortable to drive and has an adjustable back support built into the seat. Drives smooth and will get up and go when you need it to. The interior is outdated and doesn't hold up well. It also lacks technology in essence of GPS, Sirius and fancy gadgets. The fuel economy is fairly good for being a truck. I do not like that several things tend to go wrong with this vehicle. It has cost me an arm and a leg to fix it. The wiring goes bad. Stereo light doesn't work anymore. One thing about this truck though, is even though I have spent a lot of money fixing it, it has never once left me stranded on the side of the road—except the time I got a flat, but that was due to a nail. The bed of the truck is lined, which works out great, so it doesn't get scratched up. It works great when moving a lot of big stuff. My favorite part about this truck is that you can put an air mattress in the bed of it, watch the stars, and fall asleep on a cool summer night.
