Simple and efficient
The 2013 Ford Focus is a simple yet efficient vehicle with variety of pros and cons that will be quickly discussed in this short review. The Ford Focus I purchased in May of 2017 was a used 2013 SE hatchback model with 79,500 miles at the time of purchase. This vehicle is silver with a black leather interior and has a five-speed manual with a 2.0 liter engine. I would say that I really enjoy this car because when I initially bought it, I was looking for a smaller vehicle that achieves decent gas mileage but also had a durable transmission and a reliable engine. The 2010's models of Ford Focuses are known to have transmission problems, so this is why I went with a five-speed manual transmission. The quality of interior in this car seems to be good and doesn't have that overly plastic feel to it. The color schemes seem to blend very well with the black leather and silvery trim. One thing that I have found to be a negative with this vehicle is the placement of the air-filter box. The car has a very large air filter, and it doesn't seem to fit in the box appropriately as it should, which makes it very hard to replace the screws and keep the top of the box on.

Reliable economy vehicle
I like my Ford focus for many reasons. It is dependable and gets decent gas mileage. It is great for bad weather conditions due to the wide tires with great traction. I hardly slide and able to take turns faster without tipping over.
I do not like that it is a 4-cylinder engine. This engine is unable to handle the fast freeway of 80 mph very well with out shaking problems. Nor is it capable of handling hills well without having to slow down like a semi truck. Plus, due to this smaller engine the required heater is also smaller which also takes more time to thaw windows and keep you warm while doing in town driving. It has to sit at least 10 minutes to warm it up enough to drive smoothly.
I also do not like the fact that the frame of this car is not attached like a truck in order to give it it's lightweight and speed. I prefer a heavy duty vehicle over speed. One that does not crumble easily in accidents.

Great car with some issues.
Overall, I love the look and feel of the interior and exterior of my vehicle. I love the hatchback trunk, seats and features inside. My main issue comes down to what is under the hood. My car has had some transmission issues since I've owned it, and I have since learned that this is a common problem for my model year of Ford Focus. The transmission takes some getting used to as it is unlike many other cars in the way it takes off from park. It doesn't bother me at all, but I've heard from others that they feel like the car is about to stall out; it isn't really, but it does take a second to kick up a notch when taking off. After driving this car for several years, I love how it handles and the size of it is small enough to easily park and maneuver through rush hour traffic, but it's still large enough to fit passengers comfortably with plenty of headroom and transport larger items easily.
