Reliable car that lives up to its value.
I used to avoid Fords like the plague, because I had learned the motto, Fixed Or Repaired Daily, F.O.R.D. is what Ford stands for. Yet, at a time when I had to buy a car ASAP with less than $2000, I found a Ford and decided to buy it. I was surprised by how reliable this car has been. I didn't think it would run for over a year, but here we are at 200,000 miles and almost two years later, and the Ford is still going strong. I've had to do some minimal repairs, but nothing major or too expensive.

I bought my car in 2007 and thought I was getting a good quality car. The car is roomy with four doors. It has automatic windows and auto locks. The seats are also auto. It allowed for passengers to be comfortably even when there are 4 -5 people in the car. The car was great until about a year later when the starter went. Then soon after the windshield washer quit working. After that, it the car worked great for about a year. Then the starter and flywheel went (starter for the second time). Than is when I found out that there was a oil leak, and it was right on top of where the starter is. Through research I found out that it is a common problem for that year of the car. Then I moved to Dallas and not even being there for one month, the transmission went bad. After a lot of money to fix it, a year later part of the transmission went again. As well as right on schedule, the starter again. We have now spent more on car repairs than we did the car but at this point we could not afford another vehicle. About a year or two later the belt is now squeaking due to the gears are a bit loose but was advised nothing to be concerned about. However, on the good side, the car has been running fairly good for the past year, so maybe we can catch a break and not spend more than the necessary repairs for it (oil change, tune up, tires etc.).
