Solid reliable car
The 2006 Ford Taurus has been a very dependable vehicle. This is the third vehicle I have owned. The first two were Hondas, but I chose a Ford this time for financial reasons. In the seven years I have owned this Taurus, I have put over 150,000 miles on it (it currently has almost 200,000 miles), and it has been a trooper. I have had to replace odds and ends, but with proper maintenance, I have been happy with this car. One item to note is that the AC compressor has gone out a couple of times, and that was not an inexpensive fix. There seems to be a manufacturing defect which causes this issue. Several hundred dollars each time it happens. Other than that, it has performed great, for a reasonable purchase price. My Taurus has leather and a moonroof, which I have enjoyed, and neither have had any issues. The leather has withstood many children and teenagers, and even a disassembled bicycle. The only other problem with this car that I can think of, is that the speakers are starting to go out and will need to be replaced.
