This car was extremely reliable. I took it on long commutes and road trips without ever having to worry about breaking down. Has remarkable gas mileage and a good sound system to make those road trips even better. The interior has all the features I needed, and all were easy to use and find. I live in an area with extremely hot summers, and I could always rely on this ride to pump out cold air when I needed it. The car responds well to the gas pedal and steering wheel without being too sensitive either. I had the two-door coupe, so of course, the back seat was a bit smaller, but my passengers never complained. Good amount of trunk space for a vehicle of this size too. All these perks aside, the biggest reason for recommending this car is that it probably saved my life. I had stopped for a train on a rural highway when another car rear ended me at 50 mph. Any lighter and/or cheaply made coupe car would have been thrown into the moving train. This car took the force and was not pushed into the train in front of me. The bumper had pieces of the other car sticking out of it but it stayed on. The car was totaled, of course, but I couldn't be more thankful of how it handled such a bad collision.

This car is a real commuter workhorse. I have had the car for several years and have not had any major mechanical issues. The car is not cool at all, and the paint has started to peel, but I can live with it. It gets great gas mileage and is cheap to repair. The car is loud on the road and freeways so it is sometimes hard to have a phone call or listen to books on tape while commuting. I am not afraid of having the car stolen. I will often leave it overnight in my city's park and ride. Other cars have had parts stolen, etc. but mine is never touched. Same with parking downtown, the car is so common looking, I think it gets overlooked.

This is the first car that I have owned. I got it when I was 16 and I'm 23 now and it runs just as well as when I got it. It is very reliable, I haven't had any major mechanical problems with in the 7 years of ownership, and it gets great gas mileage. For my needs, it is the perfect car. If you live in a city, need a reliable car that won't let you down, a honda civic is the perfect car for you.
