Great, dependable car.
I have had my car for approx. five years, and I still love it. The maintenance has been fairly easily, and I found I mostly only need to keep up with oil changes and standard maintenance. The car also has good gas mileage, and that is probably my favorite feature about the car. I am able to drive an average amount and only need to fill up the car every two weeks or so. I like the ECO feature that lets me know when I am getting the best gas mileage. As far as design, it is an average looking car, and I like it enough. The interior design feels spacious enough, and I find that I don't have many blind spots when driving. As far as the performance, typically the car rides smoothly with no problems. However, the car is somewhat light, and I do at times notice slipping and sliding when the roads are icy. I find that the heating and cooling in the car works well and seems to heat up/cool down faster than other cars I have had in the past. Overall, it is an average car that has been affordable, dependable and efficient.

I bought the vehicle during what was called "Cash for Clunkers", trading in my 1991 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for nearly 6X its actual value. This was the most economical purchase based on the value of my Jeep, the cost difference I'd have remaining, and the warranty on the vehicle. I was not thinking at the time about the major differences in size, weight, and how it would handle winters in the Midwest or the future trade-in values on the vehicle.

Dependable quality.
I enjoy my Hyundai Elantra. It is a cheaper mid-sized car that comes with a large warranty and dependability. I have had no serious issues with this car thus far (75k miles). The Limited trim level (especially with options) seems like a much pricier car. Lots of features unique in the class- like memory driver's seat, turning HID headlights (great feature!), and nifty 'welcome lights' in the door handle. Height adjustable passenger seat, which I really like. Ride and noise level very good for the class. Outstanding brakes (which car magazines also write about). More opening feeling front cockpit than competitors. I'm 6'1" and have plenty of front leg room. Rear seat wider than Civic, but with a bit less fore-aft leg room. Fun to drive, although steering not quite as sharp as top-end Civic or Mazda 3. Despite 3 months of Midwest winter potholes (horrible this year), the car has been rock solid with no squeaks or rattles. Mileage beats EPA estimates, with an honest 40+mpg at 70+ on the highway. The only criticism I have is that power is mid-pack for the class. No drag racer, but easily keeps up with urban/suburban commuter traffic.
