Last year I purchased a dark blue 1996 Jeep Cherokee from a friend and I have never been more satisfied. I had come from a 1997 Ford Aspire that after many faithful years of service finally just died and this came up. It has a full towing package that can pull a reasonable sized trailer as well as a fair amount of cargo room. In addition, this vehicle, while a rear wheel drive has shown itself to be a vast improvement over my old car come wintertime on the back roads of my rural hometown. It has seemed to be nearly indestructible. My only real complaint is 1. The factory stereo is having some issues at this point and 2. The gas mileage is not as efficient as the small car I had before.

Bessie (as I affectionately called my old car) was one of the best vehicles I ever owned. Not because it was some kind of luxury car or anything like that, but because the car lasted. It went through minor wrecks, a million and one different repairs, had unexplainable issues wrong with it, but day after day it just kept plunking along. Sure the body had seen better days but mechanically you couldn't beat that Jeep. Nothing could hold it back. Once it got to the end of its days it did become more of a hassle than a help to have around. It had a heating issue and would vapor lock if it got too hot, the body was beginning to rust out, and it was just an old car. So I had to get rid of it at some point, but I used it right up until the last possible second because I loved that old jeep.
