Great car except for two problems
I have owned two Jeep Cherokees in my life. I have loved the cars very much. The design of the car is near perfect. You can see out of every window and there are no huge blind spots. The car is also large enough on the inside where you don't feel cramped, while maintaining small enough exterior dimensions where you don't feel like you are driving an aircraft carrier. You have good visibility with the elevated seating as well. There are two noticeable problems with the car that I've found. One, the type of suspension the Cherokee has, called a track bar suspension. This style of suspension leads to what is known as the "death wobble". After years of wear, the suspension system combines to be very fragile, where if you're going at elevated speeds and hit a bump, the entire vehicle will shake violently until you slow down. It can be very scary. To fix this, you basically have to replace all parts of the suspension, since minor wear in every area combines to make the problem. The second problem is how easy these are to steal. You only need a screwdriver and something to hit it with to pop one of the door locks, tear out the ignition, and start the car with the screwdriver. I've had mine stolen twice, both the same way. Talk to any impound lot and they will tell you how often Cherokees come in.

Jeep Cherokee
My vehicle is a black Jeep Cherokee. It is a extremely well-built and beautiful car. It has average fuel economy, but the fuel economy is great for a Jeep. I got it used for cheap, and it only had 2,000 miles on it. I like how smooth the ride is. I love how technologically advanced the car is. It has all the latest tech, such as backwards camera, self-parallel parking, touchscreen dashboard, electronic monitors, etc. It is a high-quality vehicle. It performs super well too. It hits 60 mph in less that ten seconds. The ride is comfortable and smooth. The steering is fluid.

JP in the service department was very professional and helpful. His knowledge about off-road SUVs comes from many years of experience in building his own 4x4s. While other personnel were not as knowledgeable, they were competent to perform maintenance on my Jeep and always honored time commitments made over the phone. They also went out of their way to adjust the bill when a difficult problem was initially misdiagnosed. Their Oil Change/Fluid Service package is money well spent.

My family and I have bought a total of six cars from this specific CarMax. We prefer this place because we have never felt pressure to buy a car from this place. They listen to what we want and if we ask to see a specific car and for some reason it doesn't work out or we can't afford it, they don't try to pressure us into buying something we don't want. I have been to a dealership with my brother and when they didn't have the specific car he wanted to see, they kept trying to convince him to buy a car that was no where similar to what he was looking for. No hassle and no pressure from CarMax. What you see is what you get and that takes the pressure and need to negotiate or feel duped away.
