Drives like a car, uses gas like a truck.
At first we thought this was an impressive vehicle. It handled well in the snow, handled very much like a car, was comfortable. The base trim on the interior is nothing fancy, but it was comfortable and the heated seats were convenient in cold weather. During the first summer we immediately noticed that the A/C was under-powered for the size of the vehicle and wasn't sufficient on hot days. Within 1 year of purchase we had to buy a new set of tires as the tires had unevenly worn completely bald. On towing a small trailer around for about a week gas mileage was barely over 10mpg. Unimpressive to say the least. Overall it is a nice vehicle, but the mark was missed on a few items.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was a great vehicle when new and remained reliable for the first number of years. As soon as it begins having problems its value and reliability disappears. It isn't worth fixing unless you're willing to put the time in yourself. Plan on spending a great deal of time in the electrical system.

There are a limited number of dealerships in Anchorage to begin with, but I believe that my experience with this dealership was fairly good. I had positive interactions with their sales people, though they did seem a little pushy at times to get me to buy a vehicle. When we found a vehicle we liked, they allowed us to test drive it and really get the feel for it. We waited a few days before actually making the purchase just to make sure we really, really wanted this vehicle. When we did make the purchase we were able to work with our same sales man. The process was fairly quick and pretty easy. We got a good deal and a good interest rate. Overall I would recommend this dealership to other people who are looking for any new or used Jeep, Dodge, or Chrysler vehicle.
