Love my Jeep Patriot
Overall I'm very, very happy with my Jeep Patriot. Our family decided to upsize from my very small Dodge Neon to a new Jeep Patriot after we had our daughter. It's been a wonderful help, with everything from hauling groceries to making it easier to get our child in and out of her car seat. There's plenty of cargo space, which is great. I've never had a problem fitting everything in after a day long shopping trip. It drives really well. It's very smooth and a nice, quiet ride. It's also much roomier than I expected. We've already put nearly 30,000 miles on it, and we haven't run into a single problem. After five months of owning it, we took it halfway across the country on vacation. The gas mileage was better than expected and we arrived safely while having a comfortable trip. Not to mention, we had our luggage AND my parents luggage in the back. We've even managed to transport boxes of flooring by putting the back seat down and sliding the flooring up onto the center console. Much better than borrowing a truck!

Jeep Patriot just okay.
This vehicle was an absolute nightmare the first couple of months I owned it. It died while driving it around in a new city twice, and I had to have it towed to multiple dealerships. I also had to leave it in another state and take a rental home because no one could figure out what was going on. After visiting four different dealerships (because the problem would come back), it was finally fixed correctly. After these episodes, the car has been fairly fun to drive. I like the fact that it's not gigantic but not tiny like most sedans. There is a decent amount of passenger space, although the back doors could be larger, and that would make it better. Its gas mileage is alright. I went to this from a 2002 Civic so about the same there. The car was a decent price for what I got, so I am pleased about that aspect of it. It's an okay car, but I'm not sure I would buy one again or recommend this particular Jeep to a friend. If I had no engine problems to begin with I would probably have a more favorable view of the car, but it's always in the back of mind that it might happen again, and I could be stranded anywhere. It's more of a concern now that I have a child.
