Reliable commuter
This car has pretty good get up and will let you have fun when using the manual auto shifting. The car handles really well and the sound system is decent. I think that the care could get better gas mileage for the 4 cylinder that it is and that their should be another couple gears. 8 Gears in the transmission would really improve the gas mileage. The A/C in my opinion is weak. Not powerful enough to help the passengers in the rear seats to stay cool. The paint on the doors and windows starts to chip easily. The low profile of the tires makes it a noisy ride when on the freeway, and I believe that they should have a usb or auxillary input. The windshield holds up well to cracks. The crack is currently 2 years old and still has not gone the gone across the entire windshield. The wiper blades could be better setup. If you plan on not having great gas mileage I would recommend going up to the V6 model to have the extra power to get going on an uphill climb. It seems to bog down and downshift quickly to be able to climb the hills.

"I will never own a Japanese Car"
Prior to my purchase of the Mazda 6, I owned a German car and had sworn to myself that I would NEVER purchase a Japanese car as I believed that the workmanship and the cars were not as durable. I thought they were poorly made of lower quality of metal. A friend asked me to just give it a try... So I agreed to play along and since the Mazda looked like a nice car, I selected it to be my test drive. I really was not expecting to like it and was just doing it to "humor" my friend. I fell in love with the car right away: the performance, the feel, the features, the workmanship, the way I felt when I was driving it. Afterwards, when I was test driving the Audi A3, the BMW 3 series... I kept comparing them to the Mazda, both in terms of features and in terms of value. I ended up purchasing the Mazda 6 and have not regretted it.

It wasn't the dealership so much as the car. My M6 is beautiful! I drove her off the showroom floor. However, I will say that when I went back with questions about driving the car, they spent time teaching me. I would go back again. I think they try to do a good job.
