Comfy, reliable family car
The fact that this car is still on the road in 2018 with over 180,000 miles attests to its reliability. I did not buy it for its full book value but rather received it at way-below that value from my parents, who bought it used from a dealer when it was a few years old. This vehicle has not needed major mechanical work in the six and a half years that I have had it. The serpentine belt was dried out when I got it but has held up, and I do not store it in a garage or pamper it.

Maxine is pristine but requires some love.
My Maxima was great at first; she had all the power I needed and got me around on the ground just as good if not better than any other old car. Her engine was great; she had a 3.0L VQ engine which, at the time, was one of the best six cylinders on the market. The inside had a nice leather looking dash, and there was plenty of leg room in the back seat for friends. The trunk was very spacious. The car had a very "four-door sports car" vibe to it. As it turns out, many who owned the same make/model also agreed. However, it had issues from the factory with alternators and starters. I changed them at least once a year, but that comes with the territory when owning an old fourth generation Maxima. The engine was easy to work on for the most part. I always changed my own spark plugs and kept the liquids topped off so she wouldn't hiccup. With the trunk being so spacious, it meant that my 16-year-old self could stuff some sub woofers in there for some loud boom. I lowered it with after-market springs and struts to make it hug the road even better. I'd recommend it to a friend; it was a great car for the decade I owned it.
