Nissan Maxima Jersey City, NJ OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

This vehicle is a great buy. Over 9 years ownership and it has proven to be very reliable.
I have owned the 2002 Nissan Maxima SE for 10 years now. The car is as nice today as when I purchased it. I bought it from the Nissan dealer with only 26,000 miles on the odometer. The car was under factory bumper to bumper warranty up to 3 years / 36,000 miles. So after all the inspections and tweaking was complete the car was practically new again. As of today I have 158,000 miles on the car. I have completed several long distance road trips in this vehicle which cover the greater part of the I – 95 corridor spanning from Maine straight down to Miami. My car is the SE which stands for Sport Edition. It has leather seats, power driver’s seat, power moon roof, CD changer front, driver and passenger airbags, trunk wing and rear dual cup holders. The car came standard with HID (high intensity discharge) headlights and halogen fog lights. I would say that every car should come standard with these as the difference in visibility is clearly noticeable. The car also has ABS (anti-locking braking system), DBD (dynamic brake force distribution). I have jammed on the brakes so hard in an emergency situation; the car seemed as if it was glued to the road. You always feel in control and in touch with the driving experience. The body style of this car carried from 2000 – 2003 with several updates to the vehicle for the 2002 and 2003 model year. Some of the main differences are the standard HID’s, different rims, an updated interior and the increase in horse power to 255hp. You are never every left wishing you had more get up and go. I have had many people ask me if it was a V8? This is a high output V6. Nissan has also been building the 3.5 liter engine now about 20 years. It has won multiple awards for best engine. The engine also has a self-maintaining / adjusting timing chain. The chain is instead of a timing belt. The main thing that you have to do to make sure that this car keeps on going and going and going is change the oil every 3000 to 3500 miles. Many people don’t know or understand that the oil in the engine also keeps the timing chain lubricated.
The ride is very comfortable for everyday use and long distance trips. You never feel cramped or wished you had more space. There is a lot of leg, hip and shoulder room in both the front and the rear for four people. 5 people will also fit comfortably but obviously 3 across the rear seat in any vehicle are not the same as two. The 2002 Maxima has a timeless body style. Even today in 2013 it still feels as though it has a place amongst all of the new comers. The shape also allows you to experience very limited wind noise. My car rides on 17in rims and 225/50 tires. The Maxima GLE with would be the (Luxury Edition) which really meant a more cushy ride and more standard features also rides on 17 inch rims but a narrower tire width or 215/50’s. Bottom line my car’s been paid off for several years now and it’s a great feeling to experience this type of reliability.

My Maxima not only got me from to work and back, but it made each trip a luxury experience. The engine ran very smoothly almost all the time and I am sure I will be keeping this video way longer than I have with other cars in the past. The pricing of the vehicle was another part of the vehicle I was glad about.

They worked with me when I lost my previous car unexpectedly and was in a tight spot to get a new one, and didn't really have an established credit at the time.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had questions and they were answered in an informative manner. No one pressured me to buy the car and everything was on the up and up.
