2001 Nissan Sentra OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Elizabethton, Tennessee
Our Nissan Sentra has been one of the best vehicles we have ever owned!
Our Nissan Sentra has been a very dependable vehicle. I use it every day to drive to school and work and it has exceptional gas mileage. It also has plenty of room for my husband and children and still comfortable. It has not had any maintenance issues and has allowed me to continue my busy days running the roads. The only exterior issue I have noticed is that the paint has diminished over time, I believe mostly the clear coat on top. To me though exterior looks are not as important as the quality of the motor and transmission which have been excellent. It also has plenty of horse power and can get me somewhere quickly. I look forward to one day handing this vehicle down to my daughter who will also be able to rely on it for it's dependability to get her where she needs to go. Overall Nissan Sentra has been a fantastic brand of vehicle for my families needs and has met our daily requirements in a family car and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the same.

Pretty smooth for an older car.
I have had my 2001 Nissan Sentra for a couple months now and it still handles really smooth compared to other used cars I have owned. The mileage is pretty good and there is not a lot of usual noise or problems with the shocks. The power-steering is good and the car has little trouble getting up to speed and the cruise control works well. That being said, I've already had to replace the rotors and pads on the front breaks. Also, the service engine soon light has been on a couple of times already. Apparently, which I found out from doing internet research, this light comes on frequently for other Nissan Sentra car owners, especially for older models. Nissan Sentras seem to typically have an electrical issue that causes the service engine soon light come on frequently. I bought a OBD II scanner so I can monitor why the light keeps coming on. I had to replace the gas cap and the oil dipstick, which was causing a large transmission leak reading on the scanner. However, after only about one hundred miles, my new dipstick also broke, and it appears to be what is triggering the service engine soon light to come on again, as I am receiving an 0455 reading on the OBD scanner. I have not been able to clear the problem without the assistance of an auto mechanic, but do not plan on re-replacing the dipstick, although not pricey, until I need to service my car. Other than that, the performance has been great despite the slight worry about typically having the service engine soon light come on little issues.
