Rare to find, the 2001 standard shift manual transmission Nissan Xterra surpassed all expectations. The modest interior is roomy and functional. The 2.4L engine gives decent gas mileage, hitting about 21 mpg on the highway and 18 in the city. It has enough power to get you out of the way quickly, and to traverse small obstacles with ease. The ground clearance is a bonus. Will carry up to five passengers with stadium seating. The seats let down to make the most of the cargo hold. This vehicle has lasted 15 years through 4 kids and has only had to have regular maintenance and minor repairs such as belts and hoses and a thermostat. It's my everyday vehicle and I will drive it until it falls apart. When it does, I would buy another Xterra in a heartbeat.

Great car that drives nice on the road, but even better off of it. The radio and speaker system are really good and the seating and storage is tops in its market. It has a 275+ hp engine that has some giddy up when you need it to go and turns right well on the corners. First aid kit built in is cool. the fog lights are nice to have because they are so low to the ground.

Since I purchased the car, it has worked wonderfully. I always do regular oil changes. I have had the vehicle for three years with no major problems.
