Great crossover
This vehicle is exactly what we were looking for. It drives very smoothly, and the 3.6 engine provides ample power for highway cruising when fully loaded. The engine is extremely quiet, although the road noise is a little louder than ideal. The infotainment system is very sharp and responsive. All text and graphics are clear, and it's very easy to navigate through menus and maps. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable. Our other car has a heated steering wheel, and we miss having that feature on this car for the cold months. Audio system sounds great. The front seats have started to squeak a little here and there, which isn't ideal. Lots of cargo room for traveling. Car has lots of safety features, which was a big aspect of us choosing this car. Gas mileage has been higher than EPA ratings for us so far, which is a nice bonus. We get our car serviced at the dealership, and prices have been higher than other brands we've owned.

Reliable and dependable
The Subaru Outback 2.5I is a great station wagon for people on the go. It is roomy enough to tote kids - those with two legs, or those with four legs! The all wheel drive is very stable, and is very able to get you through all kinds of weather conditions - gravel, rain, or snow. The handling, with the right kind of tires, is generally excellent. The engine, while good for gas mileage, isn't very peppy if you're looking for a performance vehicle. A trade-off for mileage! The seats are very firm, but power driver seat, and heated front seat are standard trim - fantastic in cold weather! The passenger cabin could be roomier, it is definitely not for a tall family, or one with teenagers! The cloth interior is durable, and if you choose a dark interior color, hides stains well! The light tan - not at all. I highly recommend to avoid that color! If you're looking for a high performing sound system, this one isn't it. A CD player is standard, and the speakers are adequate, but a true audiophile isn't going to be excited about it! The engine has shown to be durable, until after 125000 or so, then head gasket issues seem to kick in. It's a known flaw in the engine, and I'm not sure why the engineers can't seem to stop it.
