Reliable Old Car
While owning a 1991 Toyota Corolla might be a good purchase for some, individual customers should carefully weigh the pros and cons of owning one. If fancy bells and whistles are what get your attention, you’re better off looking for a newer vehicle. If gas mileage and reliability are primary concerns in your purchase for an automobile, it’s hard to top the Corolla’s reputation. It’s a car that will get you from point A to point B without breaking the bank. There’s nothing flashy; nothing about the car will immediately knock your socks off. The four-cylinder engine is dependable but lacks the power of bigger and stronger cars. The overall appearance of the vehicle is lackluster and not the kind of car a customer would write home about. It’s an ideal purchase for low income families, students, and anyone that needs a reliable vehicle. It would not be an appropriate choice for car enthusiasts or anyone that places the value of looks over functionality. While it does have some basic amenities, it lacks some of the creature comforts that come standard in many newer automobiles.

Steady, reliable.
I have had my 2006 used Toyota Corolla for eight years now and it has never caused me any serious worry of concern. The gas/mileage is pretty decent; I never feel that I spend too much at the pump. I have had the battery replaced twice, and once had maintenance performed that was part of a free, Toyota nationwide airbag recall. Other that that, I have never had any issues with the running of the car. It currently has over 150,00 miles, and I hope to get several more years out of it before I look at purchasing another vehicle.
A neat memory I have of this car is when, a few years back, I inherited a huge rug from my grandparents. I was moving from the Midwest to the pacific northwest, and was able to roll up the rug, put it in the trunk with the back seat down, and drive nearly 3,00 miles with this giant rug in my tiny car.
