Used Volkswagen Golf
I bought this Volkswagen Golf to replace a Jetta. This is a smaller car and has a handy hatchback for storage. I am a single user so I do not need a lot of seat space. It is two door, and the back seats fold to make more room for storage. I get good mileage and for long-distance driving it is very reliable. It is a standard shift, and the headlamps are always lit. Volkswagen parts are easy to come by, and maintenance is always locally available. The car is rusting slowly. Unfortunately I do not have a garage, and there is snow and road salt in the winter. The upholstery is wearing out, and a car seat cover is recommended. Being a compact car it is easy to park. The engine is excellent and has lots of strength to accelerate fast if needed. I would say that for a single person this is an excellent car, almost better than a Volkswagen Beetle. On top is a luggage rack, and this is useful for hauling stuff. It is a versatile car, and I have driven it to Canada on extended trips. It has not broken down when far away, and handles city traffic well with its strong engine. Power steering has failed, probably due to sitting in hot summer sun. Again a garage would fix that.

1995 VW Golf A Good Car, But Nothing Great
Overall, the 1995 VW Golf was a reliable car, and excellent in wet weather or snowy conditions. It was small, and not the most comfortable to drive. However, the driving experience was pretty great, and it was easy to fall for this little car. Despite it's compact size, this car was very good looking. Perhaps 'handsome' is a better description. All in all, I truly enjoyed every driving experience with the Golf. It was the maintenance and repairs that forced me to give it up.

Excellent to drive VW Golf
Although my VW Golf is an older model, it still gets along just like it was new. It is easy to drive, easy to maintain and easy to love. I have just over 176,000 miles on it and still drive it as a commuting vehicle every day. Even though it has a high mileage, I still get over 20 miles per gallon. I have had very few problems with the exception of the air conditioner, and once the faulty parts were replaced the A/C was as cold as any in newer VW cars. The other thing I like is the handling and suspension. I have no problem going over 35 MPH around a 90 degree turn. The interior is cloth, which is good in hotter states, and is still in good condition. It still gets challenged at stop lights by newer muscle cars, although never any other VWs. The VW Golf has an excellent layout for a two door car. It also has a large enough trunk space I can pack a couple of suitcases or all of my groceries in it without difficulty.
