Great Car But....
The 2002 Jetta TDI is a great car to own. The mileage I get from the turbo-diesel engine is outstanding. When I first got the car, I would get 45 MPG + on long road trips. It is a little bit less now that the car is a bit older but still beats my other vehicle. The car is fun to drive, when clean, looks outstanding and has not failed to get me from point a to b yet and there are 140,000 miles on it. I have a few caveats regarding the vehicle. One, the drain tubes for the sun roof get clogged quite easily. There was definitely some issue in how they are produced. I ended up snipping the ends of them off and they are fine now. Before that, during heavy rain, water would leak into the driver's side foot well. The electrical system in the car is flaky as well. I have had numerous issues with the radio stop working and the only fix is to pull the fuse and re-insert it. Also, the headlight on beep disappeared one day along with the dashboard lights. Finally, the creature comforts are not the best. Germans are known for utilitarian design and this fits the bill, the cup holder is in the stupidest place on the dash. When you open the holder, it places the drink in front of the stereo controls. Overall it is a great little car.

Great family car, but dated looks
I really enjoy this car. One reason would be fuel economy. I commute to work a long distance, and I can see savings every time I drive my Jetta. It cost me little over $18k So it’s not bad for price, considering built quality (especially interior) is more in good taste, and better than competitors. This was my first VW switching from BMW, and was pleasantly surprised how good built they are! Car has plenty of cabin space, and a good sixe trunk. No problem with tall 3 people in the back, same goes for me I am 6”1”, was kinda crammed in my Z4. Engine is peppy, (Not a GTI), but turbo makes it more fun. There were some disappointments, with that amount of money spent there was no option for LED lights, which almost all competing manufacturers include in every model! Also was hoping it would have climate control, Kia has them standard, does it really cost much more to put in climate control compared with manual? I also had some problem with the door seal, rain would drip into the door well, of course VW fixed that, hope the other side won’t have the same fate.. Now mainly my wife drives the car, we have 2 kids and there is plenty of space to fit half a dozen little leaguers in the back, with all the equipment in the trunk. I'm in the fence though recommending this car to my friends. It’s a practical car, but kind of dated. Did some improvements, installed a HID light system for the headlights, and bought some new 17 inch wheels from Tire rack. It looks much better with the new rims. We are thinking of selling it next year, and get something little more exciting. Overall it functions for our family.

An old, average car with quirks
I bought this car used three years ago. The plastic interior surfaces have a weird sticky texture that when scratched off reveals a hard plastic, so I assume the plastic areas had a layer of a plastic or rubber that had a particular texture effect that degraded over time. I like that the car has plenty of room for passengers as well as room for almost any cargo that could fit in the back of an SUV. I dislike how there is an effect on the engine that occurs when there is a rapid environmental temperature change that caused the engine to misfire for the first few miles of a trip before it works its self out. I have taken this to the shop and they do not know what I am talking about and cannot fix it. I dislike the gas mileage, though it is acceptable for a station wagon type car. I like the color because it stands out. I like the moonroof. I like how the backseats can collapse down flat if I am transporting a large amount of cargo and need the extra space. I dislike how I am unable to quickly adjust my seat position as I cannot lean back quick to check the backseat or recline when eating in my car.

Day Apollo Vw Subaru Moon Township
2003 Volkswagen 1667
The first car I'd ever purchased on my own was at Day Apollow VW in Moon Township. I was a college student at the time, and didn't have a very large budget. The people there were able to help me sort out some financing and got me into a car that I could afford. What made them different than the other VW dealerships that I'd visited was their willingness to find me the exact car that was right for me. Just because they didn't have a car on the lot that was right, didn't mean that the deal was over like it had been at others. They were able to located the car offsite and get it all set up and ready for me to purchase. I'll definitely shop there again in the future.

The service was excellent. They went out of their way to make you feel comfortable at the showroom. The salesperson was not annoying, yet continued to follow up and contact me after the sale. They made the stressful experience of buying a car enjoyable. The financing was a piece of cake, as the salesperson did all of the work allowing me to just enjoy the experience.

This is the only volkswagen dealership in the area. However with that being said they are very helpful when it comes to informing the customer about a car purchase. I was interested in a used volkswagen on the lot and they showed me a car that better met my needs on a lot that I was unaware of. They brought the car to the lot for me to peruse before I decided on my purchase.
