First car ever, reliable, attractive.
The 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse is a joy to drive. I have the manual transmission machine, and it handles very well. First and foremost, for its price it is definitely one of the sexier looking cars out there. It is a sport coupe, two door model, and it sure can be an attention-grabber (I have the dark blue color). The interior itself is comfortable, but truly it can really only hold two people comfortably. There is a back seat, but it is not really suitable for children or adults alike, as there is very little leg room. That being said, for a coupe, the trunk is very spacious, and if you fold the back seats down, it adds even more room for you to store your items/gear. It was very solid on gas mileage, averaging out to about 22 mpg, and it had very few maintenance problems over the course of five years of driving. The sound system in this is awesome! Rockford Fosgate branded. And last but not least, this thing can burn rubber! It accelerated quickly, and if you need to brake quickly, it has power brakes that will keep you safe.

This vehicle is one problem after another.
My vehicle is a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I like that the vehicle can accelerate pretty fast. The disadvantage is the car does not handle high speeds easily, the car gets shaky and it feels like you are about to break down. The car is extremely small, so it doesn't have that much space. It was fun to drive when I first bought the car, but then there is a lot of mechanical issues with it as well. There is a definite blind spot, you basically have to turn around completely. The seats in the car are comfortable. The interior is basic and it looks like you just walked out of your grandparents house. I like the way the exterior of the car looks but the paint on it chips really easily. The paint on my car is almost entirely gone. Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying this car.

I really, really wanted to like this car-but I didn't.
The Mitsubishi eclipse was the first car I ever owned. I shopped around for a good used model, and I was really excited because I loved the way they looked. I was soooo disappointed when I got the car. It ended up being only the appearance that I liked about it. The car had about 50,000 miles on it when I got it, but most cars would still run fine. Not this one. Since it was used and not financed I didn't get a warranty. It was a tiny car lot and they didn't offer them-now I know why. I bought it in summer (in Texas) and the A/C went out the second day. I attempted to have it repaired, but it never worked again. The CD player went next, but no big deal, I thought, as long as I don't have engine problems. So then of course I did. The transmission went out after a couple of months, and after dealing with that, I had some minor but annoying problems-the battery was completely dead, the brakes went out, etc. I didn't buy the car to be a race car, but it took over two minutes to get the car up to 50 miles per hour-which was very frustrating when merging onto a highway. Also, the gas mileage was terrible-I could go about 100 miles on a full tank before needing to fill up again. I ended up buying another car after all of this, and used this car as a trade-in. They kindly paid me a hundred dollars and informed me that they would scrap it for parts. I learned my lesson! I'm sure other models might have been great, but this one was a lemon. I do blame myself for not checking out the dealership I bought it from more-I learned my lesson there, too.
