Simple and sleek
I own a gun metal grey 2008 Volvo S60. I love the style of the sedan as it flies under the radar in traffic but is sleek and sexy when you really pay attention to it. It also is a very smooth and quiet ride. Living in Minnesota, we have some of the worst roads in the country, and the car's suspension and shock absorbers perform very well. When driving it, it feels like a solid car that won't blow away in the wind. It is also secretly fast and has no issues merging onto the highway with a short ramp. Even though it is fast, it is still a family-style sedan that holds the practicality of a family vehicle making it very versatile. The inside has glazed wooden trim with grey leather seats, which are very comfortable and come equipped with seat warmers. I have put 60,000 miles on the car and it has only required general maintenance with no large, costly issues.

Solid Swedish engineering
I've enjoyed a mixture of reliability and easy maintenance with my Volvo S60. It's definitely a pleasure to drive, and I like the peace of mind having our little one riding in this car. It's not a flashy car—but what it lacks in character, it makes up for in performance, safety and overall value. Aside from the standard maintenance items, I have not had to replace anything significant to date—and we now have over 180,000 miles on the car. We've found ourselves appreciating the AWD capability more than once in the unpredictable New England weather. It has held its own on more than a few occasions where the roads were so poor due to the weather that folks had to pull off to the side—but we were able to carry on—albeit, slowly. Gas mileage still average 30 on the highway and about 21 in the city. That's great, considering the high mileage we've put on the vehicle. We've switched from premium to regular unleaded after 50,000 miles. Our dealer made the suggestion. It wasn't something we would have done on our own—but validation from the dealer and some other Volvo folks we trust made us switch up the grade. Even doing so, we saw no lack in performance, and the MPG stayed consistent. We also appreciate the level of service we receive at the dealership—but we tend to have the car serviced at an independent we trust. This is a big cost savings when weighed against the parts/labor at the dealer.
