Cheap, plastic, slow
In about 150,000 miles, my car has broken down a few times. My car has a manual transmission, and the first time it broke down, the clutch stopped working at about 60,000 miles and I had to pay $2,500 to get it fixed. Then at about 100,000 miles the timing belt broke and I had to pay $1,000 to get it fixed. The quality of the build overall is generally cheap, and GM did not seem to put much care into the design of the car. It looks nice from the outside, but performance of the vehicle and reliability is minimal. There is nothing special about it. It felt like there was nothing great about this car and it was just rushed out by GM as a generic young adult car.

Chevy Cobalt, a great family car
The Chevy Cobalt is a great small family car. It gets great gas mileage and has been a reliable vehicle. My family travels a lot throughout the year. We have been able to depend on our Cobalt to get us where we are going, consistently. With two children the Cobalt is just the right size. I also like the large truck for storage of suitcases, bat bags, coolers or whatever we need for our trips. I also like that the car is compact. It fits nicely in parking spots as well as on the road. I do not feel overwhelmed driving this vehicle. Also, with it being a smaller car and low to the ground, the wind doesn't affect the driving. I like the feeling that I am in control of my car at all times. My Cobalt has been a great everyday vehicle as well as a traveling vehicle. The two things that I would say that I do not like about the Cobalt is that I wish the back seat was a little bigger. If I need to put more than two kids in the back then it is a tight fit. The other thing is that my cobalt does not have power windows and I miss having them.

GO COBALT!
I like just about everything about this car, especially the economy, since it gets 32 miles to the gallon on highway driving. I also like that it has OnStar available since it allows me to take phone calls hands free. My Cobalt has cruise control which I find useful. I have had no problems with the automatic windows or anything else for that matter. There are comfortable bucket seats in the front and a fold up console in the middle that provides extra storage. Each front bucket seat is adjustable allowing for comfortable leg room as well as height. I also like the additional storage inside each door which comes in handy for map storage and other small items. The back seat has plenty of room for three passengers and also has a net type storage bag which is installed on the back of the front seat for even more storage. The car is very sturdy and makes no rattling noises, even on gravel roads. The dash console provides information on tire pressure, outside temperature, trip mileage, miles per hour, tells when oil changes are due, and is very well lighted and easy to read.

The gm of the dealership, Paul, was friendly, caring, knowledgeable and helped me to understand what I was getting for the price of the vehicle. The finance manager was also helpful and caring. Together those two folks made the buying process less stressful. I also appreciate the helpful and thorough services staff. The service folks help me to understand the workings of my hi-tech car.

They were very patient with us as they located the best lender for our vehicle. It definitely took longer than expected but they allowed us to take the vehicle with a good faith down payment. They are all very personable and helpful. They were even willing to look up more vehicles that fit our needs.

They were willing to work with us and get us a vehicle loan even though we had poor credit and were starting over.
