Great car, but avoid base models
I have a love/hate relationship with this car. When I purchased my 2008 Nissan Sentra, I bought it used in 2010 with a little over 33,000 miles on it. The car is a base model and I did not realize how annoying that would be at the time – the most annoying being that the side view mirrors were not automatic, so setting them to my standards was a chore at best… and it would take having somebody else in the car with me, sitting in the front passenger seat, to reset the passenger side mirror if it got jostled. However, the gas mileage and easy handling more than made up for the features that the vehicle was lacking. Nissan makes cars to last, so as long as one were to keep up with the maintenance on the vehicle, the car will last practically forever. One of my least favorite aspects was the lack of cruise control, which made long drives a little tedious as I constantly had to closely monitor my speed on long stretches of highway. One of my favorite aspects about owning a Nissan Sentra is that I am able to take long road trips, for work and/or leisure, and I only have to fill my gas tank up a handful of times – for example, on an 800 mile trip, I would fill my gas tank up three times. The car was also very comfortable, so I rarely felt sore after getting out of the car after long drives. I would definitely recommend investing in a Nissan Sentra if you are looking for a vehicle that will last a long time, gets great gas mileage, and is very comfortable.

Love/hate car relationship.
This car is good in many ways. There is plenty of room for people. You could fit six or seven people easily into this car with its big backseat area. Good gas mileage. Overall, gets pretty decent gas mileage. Big trunk, plenty of storage in the trunk area. You could fit a drum set in there if your were a musician. I would recommend this car as someone's first car if you don't travel long distances and need something super reliable and most importantly, someone who doesn't have any desire for speed. Reason being, for this particular year, they used an experiential (at the time) transmission called a CVT transmission. It was supposed to really save gas, but this was years before they further perfected the technology so the transmission is not good for any sort of speed. It feels like you might break. It keeps up with other cars racing to reach the speed limit. It takes you much longer. The biggest problem with this transmission isn't speed, I'm afraid, it's reliability. I've already had to replace the transmission in this car, and that's when I found out there was a huge recall on this car for its transmission (before I bought it).
